GENERAL SUMMARY
The Philanthropy Officer - Individual Giving serves as a strategic fundraising professional and pipeline manager for philanthropy by identifying prospective donors, qualifying and cultivating them, and successfully securing gifts to the organization. In this role, the fundraiser will develop and implement creative and sophisticated strategies to inspire support from individuals and foster engagement over their l lifetime . Reports to department leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manage and grow a diverse portfolio of individual donors and prospects, with the goal of securing gifts to achieve CHKD's philanthropic priorities. Identify new donors through qualification activity geared towards assessing capacity and philanthropic inclination. Build and maintain meaningful relationships with each prospect in portfolio, strengthening their ties to CHKD with the goal of maximizing their lifetime engagement and philanthropic support. Develop and implement strategies for the qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of each prospect in portfolio to include:
A minimum of 120 personal visits or significant personal contacts each year Completion of 25 or more individual solicitations annually with more precise fundraising goals formulated each year. Implementation of stewardship strategies that demonstrate the impact of donors' gifts and encourage lifelong engagement with the organization.
Maintain awareness of organization-wide strategic priorities that can be supported by philanthropy and work with the team to attain philanthropic support. Build, manage, and strengthen a network of relationships within CHKD and the community to facilitate collaboration and create greater fundraising opportunities. Interact with internal hospital leaders such as physicians, program directors, and other development staff, to formulate and execute strategies for ongoing engagement and support. Conduct moves management of assigned prospects in compliance with standard operating procedures, including CRM maintenance. Performs all other duties as assigned.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS Required Licenses and/or Certifications Valid driver's license from state of residence and auto insurance in good standing required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree required. 2 years of documented experience in frontline fundraising required.
Preferred Education and Experience 5 years of documented experience in frontline fundraising with demonstrated career progression preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Successful record of identification, cultivation, and solicitation of prospects ($10K+ level). Proven ability to increase donor giving and build relationships with a variety of constituents including high net worth individuals. Creative thinker and thoughtful listener who is able to understand the needs and motivations of others, synthesize information into compelling narratives, and develop engagement strategies with maximum impact and effectiveness to secure current and future gifts. Excellent interpersonal skills, self-confidence, assertiveness, and diplomacy to work successfully with donors, colleagues, agents of wealth, and administrators. Highly developed ability to work independently within a team as well as collaboratively with colleagues to achieve common goals. Experience using donor databases, preferably Raiser's Edge NXT. Proficiency and technical aptitude in MS Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be self-directed and results oriented. Travel required. Must be available to work nights/weekends as needed.
