Assistant Golf Professional- The Patch
Established in 2000 and based in Atlanta, Georgia, Bobby Jones Links is a club management and development company serving private, resort, daily fee, and public courses. The Patch, currently under construction in Augusta, GA, is managed by Bobby Jones Links. This joint initiative was created to strengthen public golf in the community while expanding opportunities to play the game and pursue careers in the sport. The Patch is now hiring Assistant Golf Professionals. Primary responsibilities include: Has the ability to complete an accurate inventory count each month and has a firm understanding of cost of goods sold. Assists the Head Golf Professional in planning, promoting, and directing all golf activities. Develops merchandise sales and promotions during holidays, specials events, and times when sales are slow. Provides golf lessons to all members and guests, overseeing the instruction program at the club. Develops and conducts junior golf clinics. Orders supplies for the golf shop as directed by the Head Golf Professional. Plays golf with members to ensure enthusiasm for the game. Understands how to use the point of sales system. Assists the Head Golf Professional with all tournament operations. Maintains all logs (comp, rain check, monthly range, etc.). Qualifications
Required skills: Willingness to learn. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and club point of sales systems. Understanding of Club Financials. Must have a thorough working knowledge of the club's golf operation. Physical demands & work environment requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to: Walk and or stand for long periods of time, sit, bend, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and to lift overhead and push/pull, move lighter objects. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently: Be exposed to outside weather conditions including temperatures over 90 and below 40 degrees. Work near: moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
