Sales Representative
This position will be covering: North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana. Position Purpose: Become part of our successful sales team, recognizing and cultivating potential sales leads, traveling within your territory to meet with prospective customers. Building lasting beneficial relationships with existing and potential customers. Primary Role Expectations: Provide customers with quotes, pricing, and inventory availability. Travel within your territory to meet clients one-on-one. Become familiar with and cultivate key account/customer businesses. Maintain and expand your database of prospects. Work as a team player by assisting coil sales and sales support departments. Manage your accounts, collecting receivables within 30 days. Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of our products and services, and how they can benefit our customers. Support customers after initial sales to ensure satisfaction and realize opportunities for further sales. Ability to handle several accounts simultaneously. Learn and use enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. Be an ambassador for Hixwood by actively participating in local, regional and national trade shows and other industry events. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Qualifications: Need to be self-motivated and a team player. Great customer service skills are a must! Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a positive attitude. Outstanding organizational skills, multi-tasking and coordination abilities. Experience in the steel industry is a plus. Understanding of common sales techniques and theory. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions. Attention to detail. Experience with Office Productivity Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to learn and use ERP systems. Education and Experience Requirements: High school diploma or GED. At least two years of related sales experience preferred. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. Walking, standing, sitting for long periods, climbing, squatting, bending, lifting, and kneeling are all required physical aspects of the job.
