The Porter assists the Sales Team by performing the following tasks essential to producing results: Job Responsibilities Keeps inventory prepared to show Pulls cars from inventory when attention is needed Fills deliveries or demos with gas Washes cars as needed Takes sold inventory to make ready/prep center Keeps all cars showroom ready Maintains inventory, keeps lot visually sharp and organized Transports cars to clients or to offsite locations Helps perform physical inventory Attends department meetings as appropriate Requirements This position requires the member to drive safely with a good driving record. Education and/or Experience High School Diploma or GED; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ensure quality standards through washing vehicles exterior and cleaning/preparing vehicles interior. Shuttling vehicles to/from secondary locations including customer and fleet vehicles Facilitate vehicles through the pre-delivery inspection process - (cosmetic inspection of vehicle, dynamic test drive and assessment of vehicle, compressed air tool use, as well as torque wrench utilization) Proficiency with computers and software including Microsoft Office and internal business platforms Conduct quality control processes for delivery ready vehicles and manage the communication of defects to the proper manager Maintain the delivery readiness of vehicles Maintain the inventory lot, ensuring that there are always safe and usable drive lanes Prepare trade-ins to be transported to the auction via carrier Complete additional work and tasks as requested by the leadership team Qualifications 1+ years of experience with operations, logistics, or lot management; previous automotive, electric vehicle (EV), and/or detailing experience valued Must be at least 21 years of age High School Diploma or GED required Ability to work a flexible schedule to support customers, occasional overtime may be necessary Must have a valid driver's license in the state/province of residence that you will be driving/operating a vehicle (or state that you are commuting daily to/from) No drug or alcohol related driving incidents in the last 3 years; No more than 1 serious moving violation in the last 3 years; No driving related suspensions or revocation of Driver License within a 3-5 year period Wash, wax, and buff vehicles, dress wheels and tires Vacuums interiors and trunks Clean all glass components thoroughly Inspects and cleans engine compartment Operates car wash where available Remove "sticker" tape and glue on vehicles to be delivered Keeps all demos clean Maintain strict adherence to dealership policy on client vehicle care and operation Assure that every complete job, whether pre-delivery or customer pay meets dealership standards 100% of the time Inspect new car inventory to assure that the appearance of these vehicles meets dealership standards 100% of the time Inspect cars for damage and/body work and report any damage to management Work to meet deadlines and/or client promise times; and keeps key members informed of progress Know and understand the J. O.
