
Embalmer
The Embalmer plays a vital role in preparing the deceased by performing restorations, handling removals and transfers, dressing, styling hair, and applying cosmetics. The Embalmer reports to the Location Manager and may perform other funeral-related duties as needed or requested by management. Additionally, the Embalmer ensures compliance with OSHA standards and precautions. Embalmer duties must be performed consistently with the company's mission and values, and in adherence to company policy and procedures. Essential Functions and Competencies
Cares for the deceased in a respectful manner while performing a variety of tasks, including embalming, removals and transfers, cosmetology, dressing, hairstyling, and any other preparation required for human remains Adhere to all professional, municipal, state/provincial, and federal licensing authority regulations applicable to embalming and preparing human remains Create and maintain an Embalming report for all deceased prepared, ensuring that all company removal paperwork is completed accurately. Keep and maintain a log of all deceased in their care as well as those transferred from our care. Promote a safe work environment by being aware of and practicing universal precautions and adopting general principles of safe conduct. Assists with the maintenance of the preparation room and the facility Receive and maintain inventory for caskets and other funeral home supplies. Scheduling removal technicians for removals. Attend and participate in monthly staff meetings At times, may report directly to the RVP regarding facility/equipment needs and work with the RVP to maintain budget goals. Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a diploma training program at a college or technical school specializing in funeral service or mortuary science Current license to embalm in the state of Nevada or 5+ years embalming license elsewhere for reciprocity in NV Valid driver's license and good driving record required if performing removals and transfers of bodies Previous customer service and/or sales experience would be a definite asset Knowledge of computers and software would be an asset Excellent oral and written communication skills High level of compassion and integrity Problem-solving skills Ability to multitask and set priorities Detail oriented Professional appearance and attitude Team player AAP/EEO Statement
