
Executive Director – Hospice
Carmel, IN | Full-Time The Opportunity
We're seeking an Executive Director to lead our growing Carmel hospice branch. With approximately 30 patients and momentum building, you'll have significant runway for expansion. This role offers full P&L ownership, the chance to build your own team, and autonomy to shape the branch's culture and growth strategy—with strong executive support but without micromanagement. The right candidate is a self-directed leader who thrives on accountability and wants to run a branch as their own. What You'll Own
Branch Operations & Growth Full accountability for branch operations, budget, and performance Drive census growth and execute referral development strategies Build scalable workflows and operational systems Clinical Quality & Compliance Oversee admissions, care planning, and clinical operations Ensure compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation and state licensure Lead survey preparation and maintain quality metrics Team & Culture Recruit, develop, and retain clinical and administrative staff Build a high-performing, mission-driven team culture Provide coaching, performance management, and professional development Community Presence Represent the organization within the local healthcare community Develop referral relationships with hospitals, physicians, SNFs, and community partners Requirements
3+ years of hospice or palliative care experience, including clinical leadership Registered Nurse (RN) with active, unrestricted license 1+ year of management experience in a hospice home care setting Strong knowledge of Medicare Conditions of Participation and hospice regulations Experience with budgeting and operational leadership Valid driver's license and automobile insurance Preferred:
BSN or Master's degree in Nursing Leadership, Healthcare Administration, or related field; CPR certification. Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary:
$130,000–$135,000 (flexibility based on experience) Annual Bonus:
Up to 30%, performance-based, paid quarterly Time Off:
