Summary
The Business Development Director is responsible for 1) Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with distribution partners and customers 2) Optimizing sales channels to maximize market penetration and profitability and 3) implementing innovative sales strategies that will drive significant and measurable top‑line growth. This position will work within the jewelry vertical, analyzing customer feedback, identifying pain points, and driving improvements across all Jewelers Mutual programs. They are required to work closely with JM leadership at both the executive and P&L levels to strategically shape the foundation, priorities, and vision for JM within the context of the jewelry industry.

What You’ll Do
Manage an effective sales pipeline that identifies key partnerships, leads them effectively through the deal flow, and maximizes the long‑term potential of each relationship.
Develop visually engaging pitch pages for our product offerings that align with customer pain points and focus on ease‑of‑use and simplicity.
Nurture key customer relationships by addressing their concerns and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Conduct market research and stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs and preferences.
Work closely with cross‑functional teams to engage with customers (Product, Technology, Marketing, etc.) to solve industry problems, identify innovative solutions, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Develop extensive knowledge of all jeweler solutions, including personal jewelry insurance programs, Luxsurance, JM Care Plan, JM Shipping Solution, JM Appraisal Solution, Asset Protection and any new products offered through the JM portfolio.
Manage the execution of strategic business plans for both organic and inorganic growth opportunities.
Work closely with cross‑functional teams to develop revenue models and perform financial analysis of new business opportunities.
Provide training and mentoring to members of the business development team.

What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
Ten (10) years of demonstrated success and experience in business development and management.
Property/casualty insurance, financial services and/or jewelry industry experience is desired, but not required.
Experience with selling and marketing to large clients ($1B+ in revenue).
Ability to engage customers with an authentic personal brand and communicate stories that resonate and excite our partners.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, and ability to express technical and non‑technical concepts clearly and concisely.
Operates with a bias toward action with a proven ability to work in a fast‑paced, demanding environment.
Detail oriented and metrics‑focused with demonstrated ability to build new business relationships and strategic partnerships.
Expert understanding of service and product, and ability to innovate new ways the product can serve customers.
Excellent organizational skills to meet goals and set priorities.
Innate drive to succeed and take initiative.

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls; and talk or hear.
