Responsibilities Heritage Oaks Hospital, part of the UHS Family of Providers, has been a trusted and integral part of the greater Sacramento and Northern California mental health system since 1988. Conveniently located in northern Sacramento, Heritage Oaks is a fully accredited, 125-bed acute psychiatric hospital providing comprehensive, individualized treatment for adults, and senior adults, including services for substance abuse and chemical dependency.

Heritage Oaks also operates four Branches Outpatient Centers that are part of Branches Outpatient Greater Sacramento which includes seven clinics, each offering outcome-based Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), which support patients throughout their continuum of care. Workload: Hybrid 50% | 30 hrs per week.

The Marketing Consultant is a per diem role for a 6‑month period, supporting the Chief Administrative Officer, Director of Business Development, and working in close collaboration with the internal Agency at UHS with all marketing and communication efforts. This position focuses primarily on marketing execution rather than heavy field outreach, with an emphasis on content creation, brand awareness, and referral support for Branches Outpatient services, while also cross‑selling service awareness between sister facilities. This position supports awareness and generates leads through developing and orchestrating a marketing plan utilizing all appropriate online and traditional media platforms for inpatient and outpatient admissions, event registrations, and outside referral relationships.

Create and update marketing collateral (digital and print) to support outpatient programs, referral partners, and community outreach.

Develop content for social media channels, website messaging and Constant Contact, including posts, campaigns, and informational engagement to increase awareness of services.

Maintain a distribution list for email marketing, ensuring that audiences grow. Monitor trending metrics on Analytics dashboard.

Qualifications Education:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, behavioral health, communications, or a related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

Minimum of two (2) years of experience in healthcare marketing, business development, or related environment with measurable outcomes. Experience creating marketing content and collateral, including digital and social media. Strong written communication skills with the ability to adapt messaging for both professional (B2B) and consumer (B2C) audiences.

Additional Requirements:

CPR certification required. May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours. Completion of Handle with Care class within 30 days of employment.
