Acara Solution is seeking an
Xpedition PCB Designer
for our client, located in
McLeansville, NC .
As an ECAD Librarian and PCB Designer for Undersea Systems, you'll support CCA development for electronics used in high‑reliability undersea communication systems.
Documentation capture including bill of material parts lists, ODB++ digital fabrication packages, and 3D model generation.
Create and maintain electrical schematics using Xpedition Designer.
Define components, symbols, and libraries.
Perform circuit validation and electrical rule checks (ERC).
Collaborate with hardware engineers to understand design requirements.
Translate schematics into PCB layouts.
Component placement considering signal integrity, thermal, and mechanical constraints.
Route high‑speed, RF, analog, and digital signals.
Manage multilayer stack‑ups.
Apply design rules (DRC) and ensure compliance with standards.
Create and maintain component libraries (symbols, footprints, 3D models).
Ensure library data accuracy and compliance with company standards.
Manage part parameters and lifecycle data.
Pay: $58.60/hr
Job Requirements Required Skills / Qualifications:
Associate Degree with 7 years of experience.
Minimum 2 years of experience in using Mentor Graphics Xpedition.
Minimum 7 years of experience with library management practices.
Minimum 7 years of experience with ECAD/PCB layout design processes.
Minimum 7 years of experience with library management practices, including Xpedition parts request system, Footprint Expert Enterprise 23, 3D model creation using Solidworks NX or CREO, and Hyperlynx.
Minimum 7 years of experience with schematic capture in Xpedition.
Minimum 7 years of experience with circuit design and hands‑on prototyping.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge of one or more PCB design tools from the Mentor Graphics suite (xDM, Xpedition, DXdatabook, BoardStation, Hyperlynx), or Altium.
Basic knowledge of IPC and manufacturing standards.
In‑depth knowledge of CCA fabrication techniques.
Ability to communicate with suppliers when asked to provide clarification on design documentation packages.
Additional Information:
Requires an active Secret Clearance.
