
Lenmar is seeking a Tax Operations Analyst for a long-term contract position with our global financial services client
Overview
Location: either Jersey City OR NY (1 NY Plaza). Hybrid: 3 days per week in office. Notes: We are keen on finding someone that would have more tax operational experience with a background in validating W8/W9 tax forms from a documentation perspective or experience with issuing 1099/1042s year and forms for client accounts. Title: Operations Tax Analyst Duration – 12 months + (Possibility of Further Extension or conversion) Location – New York, NY Brokerage Operations Tax Compliance (OTC) group is a cross-divisional team based in New York City and Jersey City. It sits within the Client Tax Operations group and has two core remits: QA Testing: Quality Assurance is an added control layer supporting Client Tax Operations (CTO) functions through testing of production activity across the end-to-end tax processing lifecycle. The Tax QA coverage is inclusive of Institutional, Wealth Management Retail, and Stock Plan Client Accounts and covers various Tax Regimes (e.g., IRS (US) Ch3, Ch4, & 61; Canadian Tax Reporting & Withholding Obligations, etc.) Governance & Training: OTC maintains a multi-faceted governance program designed to oversee Brokerage's non-U.S. entities’ compliance with various U.S. tax regimes and regulations, and to ensure triennial certifications and periodic reviews are performed with effective internal controls. Additionally, OTC coordinates delivery of various training initiatives to support cross-departmental knowledge sharing and tax awareness. OTC is seeking an analyst to help support its core remits. The ideal candidate is highly adaptable and capable of balancing multiple deliverables at once. Also, highly analytical, and intellectually curious with a powerful desire to solve problems. Participate in the execution of the Tax Operations Quality Assurance Testing Process Supporting strategic initiatives and projects, including automation of OTC processes Contribute to reviewing and enhancing controls to further mature Tax Compliance Qualifications
1-3 years of Financial Services Experience, ideally with Operations Tax experience 1-3 years of experience with IRS Rules Chapter 3 (NRA), Chapter 4 (FATCA), and Chapter 61 (Back-up Withholding) CRS and/or Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Client Tax Requirements is a plus Analytical and critical thinking skills for interpreting tax rules and logic Attention to detail in validating documentation and reconciling client activity Ability to manage manual and automated control processes, including but not limited to QA testing Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Critical thinking and problem-solving skills; inclusive of sound judgement Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Experience with Alteryx and/or PowerBI is a plus Regards, Peter Swamy Direct : 201 744 2238 P: 201 946 1777 Ext – 4007
