The Commercial Contract Analyst Sr. will be responsible for serving as a consultant within the business on crafting structured commercial agreements. You will also work with our Gulf Coast team on gas processing and gathering, regulated gas pipelines, and other related assets and agreements. The ability to resolve customer issues and mentor other team members are keys to success! Your work will challenge you, and with our Core Values to guide you, you’ll quickly learn and grow with us.
Responsibilities/Expectations
Prepares and coordinates the creation, redlining, and execution of sophisticated agreements with an emphasis on negotiating terms that improve value and mitigate contractual exposure
Leads communication with internal and external partners to collaborate on contract and document draft/redline/execution
Contributes through identifying and leading continuous improvement initiatives, with an eye for tools, ideas, and process improvements to increase efficiencies within the group
Assists the business to find adequate contract solutions for their customers
Crafts new contract templates and updates the existing templates as needed; makes recommendations to our policies and guidelines for commercial contracts
Collaborates with various partners with new business development opportunities and/or special projects
Other duties as assigned
Drafts, reviews, and processes complex structured agreements with minimal requirements from Commercial. Leads teams on significant complex scope regarding Commercial projects and/or assets regarding contractual documents. Proficient at identifying and mitigating risk associated with contractual documents being negotiated for execution. Demonstrates abilities to resolve customer issues regarding negotiation of new or existing agreements. Analyzes and recommends contractual language in commercial agreements to create consistency across operational areas. Provides recommendations regarding Williams Policies and Guidelines. Mentors Contract Analyst and other internal areas on Contract Management processes and procedures. Viewed as a Subject Matter Expert regarding Commercial agreements for internal and external customers.
Education/Years of Experience
Required: High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of ten (10) years' experience in preparing natural gas midstream, marketing, mergers and acquisitions, and joint venture agreements
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in business, energy management, finance, accounting, or paralegal studies
Other Requirements
Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
Prior experience with contract management systems (e.g. Cobblestone Contract Insight)
Preferred: Strength in communicating with varying audiences
Preferred: Ability to multitask and prioritize work, including coordinating with multiple internal partners
