Job Summary This is a Revenue Specialist I position in the Finance and Accounting office – Accounts Receivables section, which performs a range of complex financial accounting duties.
Responsibilities
Responsible for accurate and timely processing of revenue receipts, including third party reimbursements.
Responsible for compiling medical claim information, generating statements and mailing notices.
Responsible for reviewing accounts for collection, rebilling and data entry.
Applies established organizational and data coding structures to accurately classify revenue transactions.
Initiate and process provider credentialing for third party payers. Collect and maintain provider credentialing information.
Collaborate with internal teams, clients, vendors, insurance companies and the public.
Serve as back‑up to accounts receivable team.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
Experience performing accounts receivable functions in a business setting, including billing, payment posting and claim reconciliation.
Experience navigating, entering, and retrieving data from various computer systems, databases and software applications in a professional work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams.
Two or more years’ professional experience with medical revenue billing, including payment posting, and claim reconciliation within the last five years.
Working knowledge of medical terminology and/or medical coding (e.g., CPT, ICD‑10, HCPCS).
Experience applying organizational codes to classify transactions, revenue, or financial records (e.g., account codes, cost centers, or similar classification systems).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of
basic accounting procedures and practices, Florida State Governmental Accounting, FLAIR or equivalent accounting systems; methods of data collection and analysis; problem solving techniques; correct spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Skills in
the use of computers and standard software programs; navigating the internet, using assorted software, and operating office equipment; public speaking and communicating technical information at appropriate levels to different audiences.
Ability to
understand and apply applicable policies, analyze financial transactions and reconcile accounting records; think critically; compile, organize, analyze and evaluate data; review data for accuracy and completeness; plan, organize, prioritize and coordinate work assignments to ensure timely completion of quality, accurate work products; communicate effectively, orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships; work effectively as part of a group or independently; accommodate changing situations or plans for satisfactory performance of the job; take initiative to communicate accurate up‑to‑date plans and information to peers and management.
