
Job Description
As this is a hybrid role working out of our Creative Studios in Westlake, Ohio, we will focus on candidates that currently reside in Northeast Ohio.
American Greetings is seeking a results driven Account Executive who will be responsible for maximizing sales and profitable growth with our Amazon business.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for meeting or exceeding financial goals associated with Amazon (e.g., net sales, variable margin, EBITDA)
Works with Executive Director to review sales results and identify new opportunities worth pursuing.
Engages in business development activity to explore growth opportunities via other aspects of the Amazon ecosystem outside of Vendor Central
Serves as primary liaison with Amazon’s Vendor Managers and SAS
Leads the development of contingency plans to close sales gaps vs. plan; collaborates with Product Management, Marketing, Merchandising and Operations to execute.
Reviews all chargebacks, fines, and credits for authenticity and consistency with the supply agreement; works closely with RFS and eCommerce Supply Chain Team to properly dispute and resolve discrepancies.
Partner with Insights & Analytics Director to validate accuracy of POS reports and distill performance insights, particularly as it relates to new product launches and seasonal programs.
Ensure that POs entered into Amazon’s Born to Run system are accomplished on time and accurately.
Proactively request POs from Amazon to maintain appropriate levels of inventory on our top performing items
Responsible for understanding all retailer requirements for doing business with AG; collaborate across functions to ensure retailer-specific solutions are developed and supported.
Help Senior Account Executive prepare for presentations (internal or with customer)
Understand and evaluate existing competitor strengths and weaknesses; develop strategic opportunities to obtain new business
Partners with internal departments to address operational and/or logistical challenges when they arise.
Addresses day-to-day account management needs such as communications, issue resolution and coordination between functional teams
Some travel may be necessary (to plants, retailers, subsidiaries, external meetings, conferences, etc.) at least 25% of the time. Travel may be daily or overnight and may be conducted via car or plane.
Experience Required
A minimum of 5 years previous experience in sales, marketing or product management; including proven strategic and proactive account management skills
Previous experience working with or for Amazon preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Demonstrated success in meeting/exceeding sales goals/forecasts
Proficiency in reading and interpreting financial and sales-related data; able to make fact-based decisions
Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
High level of interpersonal skills; ability to build strong relationships, influence others, leverage networks/relationships
Good organization and time management skills with excellent attention to detail
Strong PC skills
Works with sense of urgency; results oriented and focuses on productivity vs activities
Consumer centric; anticipates and meets consumer needs and takes appropriate action without being prompted
