About Us Hawthorn Creative is a full-service marketing agency specializing in serving hospitality and luxury lifestyle brands. We craft innovative design, compelling content, and strategic marketing solutions that go beyond engaging customers—they create meaningful connections and inspire action. Since 2001, we have been helping clients market smarter and drive business growth through tailored, impactful strategies.
About the Role We’re looking for a project-based designer-first Web Designer & Developer who can concept, design, and build custom websites using Elementor. This role is for someone who leads with strong visual design instincts, deeply understands usability and hierarchy, and can then bring that design to life cleanly and accurately in Elementor.
This is not a production-only or template-tweaking role. You’ll be responsible for crafting bespoke, high-end website designs and executing them with care.
What You’ll Do
Design custom, high-end website layouts that prioritize usability, clarity, and conversion
Translate design concepts into fully built Elementor websites with high fidelity
Create thoughtful page hierarchy, navigation, and user flows
Design for desktop, tablet, and mobile with a responsive-first mindset
Collaborate with strategy, content, and brand teams to ensure design supports goals
Maintain strong attention to spacing, typography, interaction, and polish
Build reusable components and styles within Elementor for consistency and scalability
What We’re Looking For Design comes first. You should be a strong visual designer before a developer.
You’re a great fit if you:
Are an exceptionally strong web designer with a refined visual eye
Understand web usability, hierarchy, and user behavior
Can design modern, elevated, and intentional interfaces (not just "pretty pages")
Are comfortable building your own designs in Elementor
Understand how design decisions affect usability and performance
Can work efficiently without sacrificing quality or detail
Required Skills & Experience
Strong portfolio showing custom website design work (required)
Experience designing and building websites in Elementor
Solid understanding of:
Web typography & spacing
Layout systems & hierarchy
Responsive design
UX best practices for websites
Ability to design without relying on templates. Please note: familiarity with installing and customizing themes is a plus.
Familiarity with WordPress environments
Experience collaborating with brand or marketing teams
Nice to Have (But Not Required)
Basic understanding of HTML/CSS (helpful, not mandatory)
Experience working with Figma or Adobe XD
Agency or client-service experience
What Success Looks Like in This Role
Websites feel intentional, clear, and premium
Design choices are rooted in usability, not trends alone
Elementor builds closely match the original design vision
Pages are easy to navigate, visually balanced, and conversion-aware
