Position Attorney (Assistant Public Defender)
Description Public Defender’s office in Walton County, Florida, is seeking an ATTORNEY to handle misdemeanor or felony cases. Our attorneys manage a reasonable caseload, enjoy professional independence, and receive strong support.

Responsibilities
Represent defendants during courtroom proceedings as trial counsel.
Research case law and legal issues related to criminal cases.
Communicate with defendants to develop trial strategy, including cross‑examination plans and witness selection.
Participate in jury selection, opening and closing arguments, and overall trial preparation.
Qualifications
Florida Bar member in good standing (preferred).
