The Role:

The Director of Indirect Tax & Tax Transformation will lead the development, implementation, and governance of Mobility Global’s indirect tax strategy. This role combines deep expertise in VAT/GST and sales/use tax with strategic leadership of cross‑tax transformation initiatives, ensuring compliance, process excellence, and digital enablement while supporting a business centered on automotive data, analytics, and insights.

The Team:

This is a newly formed tax team being established for the Spin Out of the Mobility Global division of SP Global. You'll have the unique opportunity to join in advance of the spin transaction and help design foundational processes and the team's operating model. As part of a small, senior team working closely together, you'll contribute to building an innovative and robust compliance and strategic framework from the ground up. Reporting to: VP Head of Global Tax, Treasury and Insurance Programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Global Indirect Tax Strategy & Compliance

Develop and maintain a global indirect tax strategy tailored to Mobility’s data, subscription, and analytics‑based business model.

Ensure full compliance with VAT, GST, and sales/use tax obligations across all operating jurisdictions.

Monitor global tax legislation affecting digital, subscription, and data services, providing timely analysis and recommendations to senior leadership.

Tax Transformation & Digital Initiatives

Lead tax transformation programs across all tax types, including process standardization, automation, and integration with ERP systems and tax engines.

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of indirect tax operations, particularly for digital and high‑volume data products.

Champion adoption of best‑in‑class tools, processes, and global digital tax solutions.

Stakeholder Management & Advisory

Partner with Finance, Legal, IT, and Business Operations to embed tax requirements into pricing, product design, commercialization models, and end‑to‑end business workflows.

Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management on indirect tax risks, planning, and opportunities.

Manage relationships with external advisors, auditors, and tax authorities to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.

Leadership & Team Development

Lead and develop a high‑performing global indirect tax team.

Establish clear objectives, performance metrics, and accountability frameworks.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing across the tax function.

Qualifications & Experience:

CPA, CA, or equivalent professional qualification.

10+ years of progressive global indirect tax experience, including leadership roles.

Deep technical expertise in VAT/GST, sales/use tax, and tax compliance for technology, data, or digital service environments.

Proven experience leading tax transformation, process optimization, and digital tax technology implementations.

Experience operating in complex multinational organizations.

Strong stakeholder management, advisory capability, and executive‑level communication skills.

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):

Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan and additional SP Global benefits.
