Duties
Serves as a Contracting Directorate environmental policy analyst.
Leads a team of lower graded specialists, primarily responsible for providing assistance to agency field components and performing hazardous waste disposal.
Develops, monitors, and coordinates policies and programs in support of assigned missions and functions.
Provides environmental program guidance, training, and instruction to DRMS Environmental Specialists, military services, and other DLA activities.
Plans, organizes, and conducts research and reviews of laws and regulations in environmental policy.
Monitors and reports on the status and progress of work, reviewing completed work to ensure supervisors’ instructions, priorities, methods, deadlines, and quality have been met.
Trains or arranges for training of team members in Environmental and Hazardous Waste Disposal.

Qualifications To qualify for a Lead Environmental Protection Specialist your resume and supporting documentation must support:
One year of specialized experience directly related to this position. For GS‑13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS‑12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector.
Experience includes developing, monitoring, coordinating, and implementing policies and programs in support of agency missions and functions.
Planning, organizing, and conducting primary research and reviews of laws and regulations as they pertain to environmental policy.
Developing publications and distribution of command‑wide guidance for the disposition of hazardous property.
Experience may be paid or unpaid, including volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations.
Education: Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
