Position: Community Engagement Coordinator

Reports to: Director of Development Status: Full Time – Hourly – Non-Exempt Overview

The Community Engagement Coordinator role plays a vital role in advancing the mission of Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida by coordinating and tracking all in‑kind donations, maintaining donation inventory, and distributing in‑kind items to guests and housing specialists according to protocol. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail‑oriented, and committed to precision in every task. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, thorough follow‑through, and immaculate attention to detail to ensure all processes run smoothly and consistently reflect the professionalism of the organization. Key Responsibilities

Receive, log, organize, store, and fulfill stock and personal item donation requests while maintaining accurate and orderly donation inventory. Serve as the primary point of contact for in‑kind donors, donation drives, and donation‑related inquiries. Coordinate donation intake, sorting, storage, and distribution to internal programs and departments. Maintain organization and cleanliness of the donation room and related storage areas. Keep bulletin boards and on‑campus donation materials current, accurate, and engaging. Create Canva materials for donation drives and donation‑related campaigns in collaboration with the Development and Communications Manager. Respond to donation‑related inquiries via phone and email as assigned. Support donation‑related components of community events and fundraising initiatives. Receive, sort, and accurately document donated items in the appropriate tracking systems and databases. Manage in‑kind donation request forms, stock requests, outreach supply requests, and internal order fulfillment. Maintain accurate donation and inventory records to support program operations and reporting needs. Capture donation impact stories or photos as appropriate for Development and Communications use. Provide coverage for Volunteer Services responsibilities during absences or peak operational needs and provide general support within the development team as needed. Share responsibility for managing community engagement email inboxes and responding to inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Collaborate on planning, set up, and day‑of execution of community events, donation drives, and outreach activities. Provide coverage and cross‑support when the other Community Engagement team member is out of the office. Assist with outreach tabling and community awareness efforts as needed. Support stewardship activities related to donations and community engagement, including follow‑up communications and thank‑you outreach. Provide additional assistance across Community Engagement functions as operational needs arise. Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or a minimum of two years of relevant work experience. Prior experience working with volunteers and supervising group activities Familiarity with stewardship and donor engagement practices Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and volunteer management software (e.g., Samaritan) Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Canva Comfortable lifting up to 25 pounds Valid driver’s license required Required Skills

Ability to coordinate cross‑departmentally for event planning and development goals. Team‑oriented and collaborative; works effectively with colleagues, volunteers, and community partners. Produces accurate, high‑quality work and follows through on commitments. Develops clear systems, processes, and communication to support smooth operations and avoid errors. Strong organizational and time management abilities. Detail‑oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Confident presenting to and interacting with large groups. Strong problem‑solving skills and sound judgment. Ability to remain calm and responsive in urgent or high‑pressure situations. Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor. Ability to represent the organization positively in both internal and external settings. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
