AI Product Software Engineering Associate Director . In this pivotal role, you will co-design transformative AI solutions with our customers from Wolters Kluwer's Tax and Accounting portfolio. Your focus will be on addressing real customer challenges rather than simply leveraging technology for its own sake. At InnovateHub, we emphasize close collaboration between engineers and product managers—engineers gain a deep understanding of business problems, while product managers develop their own prototypes. We advocate for fast feedback loops, prioritize customer value, and blend traditional role boundaries to target the right solutions. Utilizing Agile and XP methodologies, we embrace weekly sprints, BDD/TDD practices, and dynamic pair programming to foster team cohesion and knowledge sharing. This position is ideal for someone passionate about combining hands-on technical expertise with strategic leadership. You will design solutions, write code, mentor engineers, and collaborate with customers to solve pressing issues in the tax and accounting sphere. Key Responsibilities: Major Initiative Ownership:

Lead comprehensive delivery of complex AI products from conception to production, aiming for completion within weeks, not quarters. Shape technical strategies for projects, make swift architectural decisions, and coordinate execution across engineering teams.

Hands-On Technical Leadership:

Design and implement AI features using Python, TypeScript, and cutting-edge frameworks tailored for document intelligence and RAG systems within CCH Axcess. Oversee 1-2 technical workstreams or cross-functional initiatives from concept to production. Balance architectural decisions between technical excellence and compliance mandates. Provide mentorship to Lead and Senior Engineers through pair programming, code reviews, and guidance on architecture. Establish technical standards, reusable infrastructures, and development frameworks to accelerate team effectiveness.

Customer Co-Design:

Facilitate customer engagements for early access programs and technical validations alongside accounting firms. Deliver production-ready software via rapid feedback cycles that emphasize measurable business outcomes. Articulate technical solutions clearly to customers and executive stakeholders.

Requirements: Technical Leadership:

7+ years in software application development (experience with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript preferred) and cloud-native architecture (Azure preferred). 1+ years of hands-on exposure to LLMs or AI systems (NLP preferred). Full-stack development skills with a focus on modern frameworks and cloud services. Familiarity with Agile/XP practices, including TDD/BDD and pair programming. Proficiency in AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar).

AI/ML Experience:

Experience with LLM platforms such as LangChain, LangGraph, OpenAI APIs, Azure OpenAI. Understanding of RAG architectures, vector databases, embeddings, and semantic search. Experience with MLOps practices and AI system monitoring.

Organizational Impact:

Proven experience in building capabilities that enhance team scalability (training, standards, frameworks). Demonstrated mentorship abilities and collaborative culture building in engineering environments. Excellent communication skills—ability to convey complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders and produce cross-team buy-in.

Compliance & Domain Knowledge:

Experience with AI governance and compliance frameworks, particularly for handling sensitive data. Knowledge of data security, privacy regulations, and audit controls. Background in document processing, financial data analysis, or B2B professional software.

Preferred Qualifications: Microsoft Azure AI-102 certification is highly desirable; our team values this certification as a mark of Azure AI expertise. Experience with Azure AI services, advanced AI frameworks, or multi-modal AI systems. Experience in dynamic environments such as startups, innovation teams, or product-centric companies emphasizing customer co-design and rapid delivery of value. Familiarity with document processing, financial data analysis, or B2B professional software. History of developing training programs or champion networks that enhanced organizational adoption. Published technical papers or recognized thought leadership in AI/ML. We welcome applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds who possess strong technical skills, project leadership experience, and an ability to quickly adapt to new challenges in a customer-focused, innovation-oriented environment.
