Overview

The Mortgage Loan Processor is a senior clerical position in the Mortgage Division. This position will be responsible for gathering financial data and credit information used in the credit decision process. This position will also be responsible for preparing loan documents for underwriting; monitoring and following strict deadlines; handling confidential information; and preparing all entries to book loans. This position will ensure that each loan file is prepared and ready for loan closing.\nRENASANT BANK IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER\nResponsibilities

Process files from opening through closing of each loan. Take ownership of loan files once received from mortgage loan officer. Be primary contact for all parties involved in the process of the mortgage loan

Assemble all loan documents necessary to meet the underwriting guidelines for the particular loan program in process. Obtain the necessary documents from the customer to meet Automated Underwriting System findings\nReview all documents for accuracy and completeness and determine the documentation necessary to be included in mortgage loan file\nCheck Vendor screen for completeness\nAnalyze borrower(s) Federal Tax returns (if applicable) to determine qualifying income. Complete FNMA Form 1084 Self Employed Cash Flow Analysis for loan files with tax returns\nIf responsible for ordering appraisals-title and hazard insurance, track the order and status of ordered appraisals-title and hazard insurance\nMaintain compliance of Good Faith Estimate, Truth-in-Lending, and all other Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) disclosures\nReview documentation for completeness and accuracy, ensuring compliance with initial truth-in-lending guidelines. Notify Mortgage Banker of changes to loan file needing Changed Circumstance and re-disclosure\nResponsible for conferring with borrowers concerning questions, procedures, necessary information and forms completion, and loan status\nCommunicate, in writing and verbally, with various parties to the mortgage loan process\nPerform other related duties as assigned\nQualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required\nMinimum of 2 years job related experience\nAbility to operate a personal computer using Microsoft Word and Excel\nWorking knowledge of loan documentation and bank terminology\nBasic knowledge of Accounting\nAbility to deal tactfully and effectively with customers as well as fellow employees\nKnowledge of all necessary computer applications\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Residential Mortgage Loan Processor Duties and Responsibilities

Accurately and efficiently complete all necessary data input into the loan documentation software, adhering strictly to regulatory compliance requirements.

Take ownership of ensuring all loan documentation is complete, accurate, verified, and in full compliance with both company policies and all applicable federal and state regulations.

Maintain the highest standards of document accuracy, including impeccable spelling, precise referencing of collateral, and meticulous attention to detail in all supporting file documentation.

Prepare new loan documentation requests and consistently meet critical deadlines using the current documentation software, primarily for generating closing disclosures and supporting initial and re-disclosures. This involves diligent information gathering, proactive requests for additional documentation, and thorough research as needed based on the complexity of each file. Utilize processing checklists as essential tracking tools and guides throughout the process.

Thoroughly verify all loan file documentation, including but not limited to: confirming clear title work, ensuring proper insurance coverage is in place, and verifying that property taxes have been paid for all associated collateral.

Manage post-closing responsibilities efficiently, including but not limited to: accurately inputting loan information onto the core system, managing funding procedures, and preparing the complete file and documents for barcoding and scanning. Employ file organization checklists to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Residential Mortgage Loan Processor Qualifications and Requirements

Demonstrated experience in mortgage loan processing or a related field is highly preferred.

A strong understanding of mortgage lending regulations and compliance requirements.

Proficiency in using loan documentation software and other relevant computer applications.
