
Parts Salesperson Job Description
Atlantic Tractor – John Deere Dealership
Queen Anne, Maryland
Purpose This position is responsible for selling parts to customers over-the-counter, providing necessary parts to the service department, and placing special orders for our customers. The incumbent must meet or exceed monthly sales goals while driving sales through aftermarket promotions.
Responsibilities
Promote and sell products and/or services to meet customer needs.
Supply service technicians with parts as required.
Assist with preparing and maintaining merchandise displays.
Verify receipting-in or shipments and assist with placing machine‑down and stock orders in their proper inventory locations.
Assist in keeping the parts department clean and orderly.
Follow up on shortages and expedite issues by reporting to the manager.
Maintain all department tools, equipment, and vehicles in good working order.
Multitask while consistently maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
Participate in branch and company on‑call schedules.
Routinely lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Work with a team or independently.
Maintain a professional demeanor to ensure the highest level of customer experience.
Occasionally deliver parts to customers using the company vehicle, when deemed necessary.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Participate in occasional monthly branch and company on‑call schedules.
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge
Preferably one year of experience working in a parts department operation.
Experience with electronic parts catalogs preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license.
The starting hourly rate is $20 – $24 per hour, determined based on experience.
