Parent Involvement Coordinator Illinois Action for Children is seeking a Parent Involvement Coordinator who is passionate about uplifting families and promoting meaningful parent participation in Early Learning programs. In this leadership role, you’ll guide staff and families, coordinate engagement initiatives, and ensure parents have a voice and active role in shaping the educational experience of their children.

Responsibilities
Lead and strengthen parent engagement efforts across Early Learning sites.
Coordinate and support Policy Council and Parent Committees, helping parents assume leadership roles.
Develop and deliver training and learning opportunities for parents and staff.
Build community partnerships that expand parent resources and support systems.
Oversee and track volunteer involvement and in‑kind activities for compliance and reporting.
Support welcoming, inclusive environments for families across program locations.
Collaborate with Site Directors, Coaches, and Family Engagement staff to align engagement strategies with family needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Family Studies, Social Work, or a related field.
Experience working with family engagement programs, ideally in Head Start/Early Learning settings.
Strong communication, relationship‑building, and facilitation skills.
Ability to work across multiple sites (local travel required).
A commitment to equity, inclusion, and uplifting diverse families.
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working specifically with parent involvement initiatives in social assistance or educational settings.
Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish or other languages prevalent in the Matteson community.
Knowledge of local social services, educational systems, and community resources.
Training or certification in family engagement strategies or community organizing.
Experience with data collection and program evaluation methods.
