Senior Database Administrator for ADABAS, IDMS, Datacom, and Oracle

Job Summary Join DDC-IT Services as a Senior Database Administrator (ADABAS). In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining software and DBMS environments while ensuring compliance with STIG and/or SRG standards. Job Duties and Responsibilities Ensure all DBMS environments are maintained in accordance with STIG and/or SRG requirements. This includes keeping software up-to-date with vendor-supported versions and applying necessary security patches in a timely manner. Maintain thorough documentation as outlined in the STIG and manage software exits associated with the software systems. Familiarize yourself with departmental SOPs and ensure adherence to documented procedures, including ticketing, change requests, and relevant documentation. Manage DBMS updates and provide detailed reports to the supported Government Point of Contact regarding customer inquiries. Utilize SMP/E to install software and serve as the lead technician within the IBM SMP/E environment. Handle the installation, customization, upgrades, and overall maintenance of Database Management Systems on mainframe platforms running z/OS. Participate actively in planning and executing database migrations and application software upgrades. Analyze outages and provide Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports, prepare presentations for management, and lead team efforts in mitigation strategies. Exhibit a deep understanding of the IBM SMP/E environment while performing installations as a lead technician. Perform other related duties as assigned. Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience) Must have an active Secret Clearance.
