Earth Day Initiative is a non-profit organization that promotes environmental awareness through annual Earth Day events, as well as year-round programs, including our sustainable food education program, green buildings publication, and regular work with community partners around a range of sustainability initiatives. In recent years we marked Earth Day with virtual events bringing people together from around the world to take part in sustainability initiatives and climate activism. Our livestream and videogame-inspired virtual reality platform reached over 1.75 million people to call for climate action and environmental justice. In the past few years our virtual events included Al Gore, Robert Downey Jr, Bill Nye, Ian Somerhalder, Rev. Lennox Yearwood Jr, Elizabeth Warren, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Broadway performers from Jagged Little Pill and Hamilton, climate scientists, activists, and sustainability experts.
