The Initiative works across faiths, professions, and institutions to deepen understanding of antisemitism and to equip leaders with the knowledge and tools to challenge it in meaningful, lasting ways.This role is ideal for a seasoned educator, interfaith leader, or scholar-practitioner who is ready to shape programs, influence national conversations, and expand the pipeline of professionals capable of teaching about antisemitism in all its contemporary forms.**The Opportunity**Reporting to the Director of the President’s Initiative on Antisemitism, the Associate Director plays a central role in advancing the Initiative’s mission and strategic growth. The position focuses on two primary audiences:* **Religious leaders** (Jewish and non-Jewish)* **Content experts and educators** who can expand the field of antisemitism educationWorking closely with the Director, the Associate Director helps set strategy, design high-impact programs, and extend the Initiative’s reach through a **train-the-trainer model**. Programs emphasize interfaith leadership, clergy education, and rigorous engagement with contemporary antisemitism, antizionism, Israeli history and society, and Palestinian history and society.As the Initiative evolves, this role will also help support expansion into new audiences, including **media professionals and policymakers**, while strengthening existing programs.**Key Responsibilities****Strategic Leadership (30%)*** Partner with the Director to shape and implement strategy for antisemitism education and cross-cultural understanding* Expand the pipeline of trained educators for audiences including:
+ Higher education leaders and administrators
+ Middle and high school educators
+ Clergy and faith-based leaders
+ Media professionals and public intellectuals**Program Design and Delivery (50%)*** Design, lead, and evaluate conferences, institutes, workshops, and interfaith initiatives* Develop programs engaging:
+ University chaplains and religious leaders
+ Interfaith and community leaders
+ Rabbinic seminaries and clergy training institutions
+ Scholars and academic leaders in religious studies
+ Journalists and thought leaders* Build and sustain partnerships with academic institutions, religious organizations, and community-based groups**Campus and Public Engagement (5%)*** Represent the Initiative at national and international conferences and convenings* Teach and present on historical and contemporary antisemitism to diverse audiences* Facilitate interfaith dialogue that promotes understanding, rigor, and respect* Collaborate with Brandeis faculty and staff to integrate programs into academic and community settings**Team Leadership (5%)*** Lead, mentor, and support staff and collaborators, fostering an inclusive and mission-driven culture**Fundraising and Resource Development (10%)*** Identify funding opportunities and contribute to grant and proposal development* Cultivate relationships with donors, foundations, and institutional partners* Prepare reports to meet grant and donor requirements**Qualifications****Education and Experience*** Master’s degree in Religious Studies, Interfaith Dialogue, Conflict Resolution, or a related field; ordination preferred* Minimum of 5–8 years of relevant experience required; 7 or more years strongly preferred* Experience working within higher education, including with administrators, campus clergy, faculty, Hillel and Chabad professionals, and independent scholars* Familiarity with the media and journalism landscape is a plus**Skills and Expertise*** Deep expertise in Jewish history and historical and contemporary antisemitism* Demonstrated leadership in interfaith engagement and a strong commitment to human dignity* Thorough knowledge of Jewish communal and institutional ecosystems* Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences* Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills, including managing multiple initiatives simultaneously* Experience with fundraising, grant management, and budget oversight**Why Brandeis**Brandeis University offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including comprehensive health coverage, a generous 403(b) retirement match, and tuition assistance for employees, spouses, and dependents.
