About WKYT WKYT-TV is the CBS and CW affiliate in Lexington, Kentucky, serving the Thoroughbred Capital of the World. The station produces more than 10.5 hours of news per day and maintains a competitive news environment in Lexington’s #63 market. Our team of award‑winning professionals works in a fast‑paced yet collaborative environment.

Job Summary WKYT in Lexington is seeking a Digital Content Producer to develop and showcase engaging content across its innovative digital platforms. The role utilizes a dedicated team, live streaming capabilities, drone coverage, and a podcast studio.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in creating digital content using strong editorial, journalistic, organizational, and communication skills.

Collaborate closely with news managers, producers, placement editors, reporters, photographers, weather, and sports departments to determine content needs and delivery methods.

Enhance and empower content production with graphics, research, and station branding.

Write clearly for multiple platforms under tight deadlines, demonstrating creativity, strong editorial judgment, and adherence to journalistic ethics and libel laws.

Lead the creation of original locally‑focused content for WKYT’s digital platforms.

Maintain engaging content on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms to attract viewers to digital platforms and broadcasts.

Work Monday through Friday on a 2:30 PM–11:30 PM schedule.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism or a related field.

Self‑starter with knowledge of and ability to operate state‑of‑the‑art television news equipment and website publishing tools.

Experience and desire to succeed in a fast‑paced digital news environment.
