Your Key Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Apply your deep understanding of patent and scientific data, to identify relevant patent and scientific literature, evaluate findings and deliver comprehensive reports including the development of algorithms
Manage the whole search process from alignment of the objectives of the search to consolidation and communication of relevant findings
Conduct high-quality and timely searches: develop search strategy, apply strategic search skills to craft effective queries using a variety of patent and non-patent databases (eg. Minesoft Patbase, ARK, STN, Cortellis, Derwent Innovation, Scifinder).
Incorporate AI search tools into the search process to increase efficiency and precision
Extract data from health authority and regulatory agencies websites, transforming, cleaning and analyzing large data sets.
Identify and apply new approaches in searching prior-art to improve quality and efficiency
Identify and implement automation of reoccurring data requests
What you’ll bring to the role:
Degree in chemistry or chemistry-related, biochemistry, biotechnology, cheminformatics, bioinformatics or related field. Combination with data science is a plus.
5–10 years of experience in prior-art searches, using patent and scientific databases (eg. Patbase, STN, ARK, Derwent Innovation, Cortellis)
Problem-solving skills, analytical mindset
Good communication skills to explain technical topics to a non-technical audience
Excellent programming skills in Python preferred; data extraction, cleaning, transforming and analyzing large data sets
Demonstrated ability to apply coding/automation to patent or scientific search topics (e.g. chemical structure searching)
Experience in web crawling, data scraping and integration of heterogenous data sources.
Track record in timely completion of complex search projects, applying state-of the-art technology
Experience in life science/biosimilar industry beneficial
