Regional Head of Business Development - EU Are you a natural hunter with strong networks across the German pharma and biotech landscape? Do you thrive in building new relationships, opening doors, and developing strategic accounts on a global scale? A rapidly growing, private-equity backed biobanking company is expanding its commercial team and is seeking a Business Development Manager (BDM) based in Germany. Operating for over 20 years under different brands, the business is now scaling aggressively under a new global identity. With a small but established footprint in Germany—and a highly attractive local biorepository facility—this is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a clean territory with enormous untapped potential. The Opportunity This is not a role where you inherit a large book of business. Instead, you will step into a clean slate with the freedom to shape the German market strategy. You will focus on identifying, approaching, and securing mid-to-large pharma and biotech organisations, with many well-known industry players entirely untouched today. While based in Germany and expected to have deep knowledge of the local market, your commercial impact will extend globally. When you win and develop an account (e.g., Boehringer, Bayer, Merck), you become the European—and often global— relationship owner, coordinating activity across all regions where that client operates. What You’ll Be Doing Develop new business across the German pharma/biotech ecosystem, targeting mid-to-large companies. Build, nurture, and expand relationships with key stakeholders in R&D, clinical operations, biospecimen management, and procurement. Grow existing German customers already using the company’s storage facility, while identifying new opportunities within their wider networks. Take global ownership of key accounts once secured—driving revenue growth across Europe and beyond. Collaborate closely with global commercial colleagues to support multinational proposals and cross-border projects. Represent the organisation at conferences, industry events, and client meetings. What We’re Looking For Language: Professional German & English. Strong existing network within pharma, biotech, and/or CRO organisations. Proven track record as a hunter—comfortable opening new doors and developing long-term relationships. Ideally 5+ years working within the German life sciences market. Experience selling services (CRO services, biobanking, clinical services, or related) is highly advantageous. A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-driven, private-equity environment. Someone motivated by building something new: clean territory, no internal competition, no existing accounts handed over. Why Join? Private-equity backed growth – strong performance is rewarded, with Clear runway in Germany – vast number of potential clients, very few currently Global scope – deals may be German, European, or global in nature. Established service offering – 20 years of operational history underpins a newly unified brand. High autonomy – ability to shape the commercial strategy across Germany and beyond. Supportive leadership – direct access to and mentorship from the Global Head of Business Development. If you are driven by creating new opportunities, enjoy building deep relationships with major pharma players, and want to play a critical role in shaping a high-growth business
