Job Overview A Purchasing Agent supports production with purchased material to fabricate windows and doors.

It is their responsibility to obtain the appropriate quantity of goods in a professional, reliable and responsive manner at the negotiated price while meeting quality, schedule and performance requirements specified by the Marvin company.

Highlights of your role

Maintain MRP Drivers: Regularly update MRP systems to ensure optimal inventory levels based on production schedules.

Supplier Accountability: Conduct meetings with suppliers to review performance and discuss improvements.

Purchase Price Variance Review: Analyze discrepancies between expected and actual purchase prices, verify changes, and implement cost reductions.

Supplier Scorecard Review: Assess supplier performance and manage risks to ensure timely material delivery.

Supporting Purchasing Coordinator: Support and train Purchasing Coordinators and assist with responsibilities as needed.

Inventory Management: Coordinate with suppliers to maintain adequate inventory levels and align forecasts with production plans.

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to supplier performance to ensure timely delivery.

Supplier Stocking Plans: Collaborate with suppliers to maintain inventory levels and align forecasts with production plans.

Request Quotes: Work with stakeholders and suppliers to quote new materials, parts, and services.

Forecast Sharing: Send regular forecasts to key suppliers.

PPAP Requests: Submit and manage Part Production Approval Process requests.

Logistics Coordination: Schedule and track shipments, resolving issues or delays.

Production Forecast Updates: Update production forecast data in the MRP system.

You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)

Computer proficiency

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Understanding of material quality requirements, processes, and procedures

Ability to analyze inventory usage and requirements

Leadership skills

Purchasing processes and systems knowledge

Negotiating skills

Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, finance, or related field (recommended)

3 years of experience in Supply Chain, Leadership, or Project Management; OR 2 years of experience with a bachelor's degree

Professional certification preferred

Compensation $56,750 - $75,000 annually
