Job Purpose and Impact The

Senior Business Development Representative

will develop ways to increase sales and revenue from new customers in existing market segments and channels. In this role, you will develop and implement business plans, build and nurture relationships with various procurement and research and development stakeholders while participating in activities of marketing, sales and R&D support to reach objectives and revenue goals.

Key Accountabilities

Translate customers into business strategy to capture commercial sales through structured pipeline building, cohort management, governance (quarterly reviews, KPI tracking) and solution selling.

Recognize and pursue new market segments and opportunities for business development, calculating return and investment.

Monitor market development activities to align with company business goals. Ensure sales, marketing strategies and tactics utilized by the business are effectively aligned with regional marketplace practices.

Prioritize market segment development activities and set revenue targets. Focus on building relationships with emerging brands, co‑mans, and private label manufacturers.

Execute sales transactions through the portfolio pipeline process while selling solutions to help customers grow to scale with Cargill while negotiating contracts.

Lead/own cross functional collaboration with marketing, product line, R & D through a process with detailed deliverables of an action plan, recommend adaptations and changes to the strategy as appropriate for high value, complex prospects.

Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or sciences related to food

Minimum of four years of related work experience

Ability and willingness to travel overnight up to 30‑40%

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Package

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree or other post‑secondary degree

Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, marketing, technical service or business development in the food & beverage industry focused on food ingredients

Location: This position is open to remote candidates in the US

The expected salary for this position is $105,000 to $135,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance. At Cargill we put people first.
