
Overview
Senior Mechanical Designer / Senior Mechanical Engineer (Plumbing & HVAC Systems) – Full‑time. We are seeking an experienced professional in building plumbing and mechanical systems who will lead design efforts from concept through construction documents, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and mentor junior staff. The ideal candidate is technically adept, collaborative, and experienced in delivering well‑coordinated MEP projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the mechanical design process from conceptual development through detailed construction documents.
Develop plumbing system layouts using Revit and AutoCAD.
Perform mechanical load calculations, HVAC/plumbing equipment selection, and energy analysis.
Collaborate closely with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, and civil teams.
Review, mark up, and provide feedback on shop drawings and submittals.
Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers within the team.
Ensure all designs meet applicable building codes, industry standards, and sustainability goals (e.g., LEED).
Participate in client‑facing meetings and presentations as needed.
Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
8+ years of experience in mechanical design for buildings (commercial, institutional, or industrial).
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and mechanical design software such as Trane Trace or Carrier HAP.
Strong understanding of building codes, ASHRAE standards, and sustainable design principles.
Excellent communication, coordination, and problem‑solving skills.
PE license preferred but not required.
Ability to work independently while also supporting collaborative, multidisciplinary design teams.
Location and Availability Permanent position based out of Cincinnati, OH. This fully onsite role is anticipated to close on Feb 23 2026.
