Some travel and weekend work may be required ORGANIZATIONAL MISSION A Sense of Home strives to prevent homelessness by creating first-ever homes and a community for youth aging out of foster care. 50% of those struggling with homelessness are former foster youth. The homeless crisis can only end through prevention. POSITION PURPOSE ASOH has a very unique brand and creates events that its community has come to expect. While most in the nonprofit space have produced events and managed all aspects of nonprofit work, ASOH has its own unique recipe for all that it does. The Gala and Donor Relations Manager respects the unique ASOH menu of experiences, the tastes of its community and the infusion of heart and vulnerability in all that ASOH does (including its events). THE GDRM UNDERSTANDS THAT ASOH EVENTS: Create a beautiful, inspired environment and immersive experience just as we do with the homes we create. Are an opportunity to share the ASOH story in an immersive setting with a Raise funds and awareness and build momentum towards growth. Celebrate the History and Accomplishments of ASOH. Celebrate all who have made ASOH possible. Secure new supporters in order to support future growth Provide dignity, and hope for all recipients and all stakeholders. Ignite one’s creativity, hope, and imagination Create an opportunity to hold space for and honor key members of the community and overall build a sense of community. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The GDRM will manage the event: The GDRM will work with the Founder & President to produce the annual LA Gala and the inaugural gala in NY. While dates have not been secured, ASOH is attempting to produce an event in late September in NY and late November in LA. There is a possibility that in lieu of a gala with 250 guests in NY in 2026, ASOH may produce 2 smaller events. NY will soon have an executive director and the GDRM will work with the Founder to empower the ED to learn how to produce ASOH events. The GDRM oversees ASOH staff working at the event: Share authentic stories and impact updates with our donors Representing ASOH with warmth and professionalism at every touchpoint. Welcome Guests Warmly: Greet attendees at the entrance with professionalism Provide Event Information: Be ready to answer questions about the schedule, Direct Guest Flow: Help guide guests to registration, seating, photo ops, or special Maintain Event Timing: Keep track of the schedule Provide Event Information: Be ready to answer questions about the schedule, Monitor and Troubleshoot: always alert for any issues (e.g., seating problems, A/V Assist with Closing: Help manage guest flow at the end of the evening and provide a warm farewell or thank-you Managing and training staff and coordinating vendors: The GDRM provides training for all staff as it pertains to their role at the gala and manages staff at the event. Each team member has a very specific role to carry out at each event, but they should also be able to step into another colleague’s role, ensuring staff and vendors execute on the following: Managing the Ticketing Platform Liaising with Founder as it pertains to strategy and management of securing a significant Gala Chair, Honorees, Performers, Host Committee, Gala Sponsors. Managing duties, expectations and communication between Honorees, Chairs, Host Committee, Performers and Sponsors. Motivating and managing staff to secure sponsors, sell tables and tickets, procure pledges from live raise funders, and sell tickets. Liaising with Founder as it pertains to strategy for a match pledge to legitimize a live raise. Motivating and managing staff to communicate with past donors to secure and track all in‑kind for the gala (furniture, home goods, beverages, candles, and all gift bag items). Ordering additional ASOH branded product for gift bags. Managing staff to produce invitation, sponsors deck & outreach to secure desired number of attendees Working with Comms Director to ensure production of all assets Management of Event Flow (ROS) and creating a timeline of every detail for the day of and day after. Motivate staff to procure and design a successful raffle package and auction. Raffle must support the auction Liaising with the Event Mgt company that manages all vendors and design of event. [Catering, Rentals, Beverage and bar, Lighting & power, AV (audio visual), Step & Repeat, Security, Restrooms, Valet, Tents (when necessary), ASOH consulting PR team Coordinating the positioning and flow of red carpet and working with ASOH's PR Team to handle logistic before and after the event Managing Check in and live raise staff, and Wi‑Fi/ Smart Radios Coordinating Trash pick up Managing table & ticket sales and outreach and strategy Managing Live raise matching pledge and live raise plants to achieve goal. Managing Raffle (securing items, Mgt of backend and experience) Internal Managing all auction items (collecting all offerings and assets, facts, language, certificates and) and sharing with Auction Page Mgr and manage a tracking sheet with all correct contacts of donors and winners (and anyone who facilitates the auction items) Managing the physical Auction space on the night of the event Managing activation (ie Love Jar creation of the concept and managing on the night of the event) Managing all staff who are supporting Recipients attending the event Managing all staff who are responsible for guest flow in and out of the event Ensuring the Comms Director is managing all video and photography of the event Additional work beyond ASOH Events Help with the role of the Business Development Director at A Sense of Home HQ while Business Development Director is on leave. Five years of relevant experience required in development, nonprofit management, communications, fundraising events, and marketing strategies. Must have reliable means of transportation as frequent off-site meetings and events are required for the position Experience working with diverse populations.
