Senior Interior Designer – Luxury Residential | Chicago, IL Working Style:

This is an exciting opportunity for a collaborative and detail-oriented Senior Interior Designer to join an established high-end residential design firm. We are seeking a Senior Interior Designer to lead high-end residential projects from concept through completion for our client, a sophisticated design firm in Chicago. In this role, you will own the design development of select projects, ensuring each reflects a refined aesthetic, meets client expectations, and adheres to the firm’s design culture.

You will collaborate closely with principals, clients, contractors, consultants, and vendors, while managing and mentoring a talented project team. This is an ideal opportunity for a highly organized, detail-oriented designer who thrives on leading projects and delivering exceptional interiors.

Key role impacts

Define and execute the design direction for assigned projects, maintaining consistency and excellence

Partner with leadership to ensure the firm’s design culture is promoted and adhered to across projects

Liaise with clients, principals, contractors, consultants, vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery

Manage multiple high-end residential projects simultaneously, from concept to installation

Oversee the selection of furnishings and materials, presenting recommendations for approval

Mentor and guide junior design staff, delegating responsibilities and reviewing deliverables

Proactively identify potential challenges and develop solutions to ensure project goals are met

Maintain project schedules, budgets, and design deliverables, ensuring alignment with expectations

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from an accredited program

8+ years of experience managing all aspects of design projects, with at least 4 years in high-end residential interiors

Expertise in AutoCAD, Studio Designer, and Adobe Creative Suite

Strong knowledge of local and national vendors for luxury furnishings, finishes, and materials

Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills

Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple complex tasks with impeccable attention to detail

Valid US Driver’s License and ability to interact professionally at all levels
