Key Account Manager Scandinavia - Industrial Gases (IG) Will be part of Strategic Key Accounts team (IG) and will focus on expanding business cooperation with assigned customers especially in the OEM business. This role will serve as the primary interface for the organization and act as a liaison, ensuring all requirements are met in a timely manner. This person will also be responsible for conducting regular business review and strategy meetings with customer’s management group to understand their needs and link to the organization’s product/service strategies. An outstanding Key Account Manager – IG will be someone whose customer‑oriented approach, strong influential skills and strategic thinking will drive sustainable growth and further strengthen established partnerships.
Role Responsibilities
Acting as a primary contact for assigned strategic accounts, which includes traveling to customer corporate locations to solidify relationships with key decision makers, determining customer needs, and learning application and business requirements
Establishing, cultivating, and leveraging customer relationships at a branch and corporate level to grow the business (this role is a strong mix of hunting and growing the relationship)
Conducting market and customer research, staying in frequent contact with customers by email or phone, business travel to customers when needed, attending top industry trade shows and driving other prospecting activities
Lead sales presentations, annual pricing negotiations, business reviews and product proposals, and other communications designed to drive sales
Act as a customer advocate within internal organizations and cross‑functional teams on pre‑ and post‑sale matters including but not limited to Engineering, Product Management, Marketing and Operations
Closely work with OEM management and territory sales managers to identify, develop and close new sales opportunities within defined strategies
Ensure alignment with customer standards (pricing, regular follow up on key business opportunities).
Regular exchange and updating with OEM Management, based in Germany.
Travel Up to 30% (mostly within Scandinavia).
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of sales experience
Previous Account Management or Business Development experience
Bachelor’s degree
Languages: English is mandatory, fluent in Swedish or Norwegian
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or equivalent through experience
Previous sales experience in the Compressed air or industrial gas industry is a strong plus
Strong time management skills, critical thinking and problem‑solving skills
Customer service focused, including the ability to create an atmosphere that encourages an open dialogue about the internal and external customer’s needs
Detail oriented, strong analytical abilities, with excellent organizational skills
Excellent listening, negotiation, business professional presentation and collaboration skills
Proficiency in Microsoft CRM software, Microsoft office suite with an emphasis on Excel
Proficiency in additional Scandinavian languages is a plus
