The Assistant Director will perform activities which include academic advising and mentoring, monitoring progress towards the degree, course and/or enrollment management, course and/or program assessment, academic program review and organizing graduate student events. Further, the Assistant Director will be responsible for the administration and alignment of Master’s degree programs (MS, MBA, EMBA) and the pursuit of strategic initiatives to strengthen core programs at the Masters levels. Additionally, ensure effective and coordinated delivery of Master’s Student Services, and programs. The Assistant Director will coordinate the department’s admission of graduate business students. This position reports to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs of the Lubar College of Business.Duties & Responsibilities:•
Advise, coach, and guide admitted Graduate Business students through the exploration of Lubar’s array of courses leading to a graduate degree.
•
Maintain thorough knowledge of graduate programs and requirements as well as the benefit of completing a program at the Lubar College of Business.
•
Foster and support key initiatives and processes for marketing and recruitment activities of master’s students.
•
Build a strong work culture in the master’s office to achieve performance standards and accountability.
•
Planning and overseeing events and activities for master’s programs.
•
Support the preparation of AACSB documentation.
•
Supervise, train, and coach student worker(s) associated with the Master’s program.
•
Other duties as assigned.## **Key Job Responsibilities:*** Assists stakeholders with preparing and/or maintaining documentation, financial management, and/or reporting requirements related to sponsored grants, contracts, or agreements* Provides full service advising resources and services, provides information about educational options and academic requirements, and communicates directly with students regarding all aspects of the advising process* Manages degree programs and/or certificates, high impact practice programming and events, and curriculum development and implementation* Leads the development and implementation of academic program initiatives* May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees* Serves as the liaison to internal and external stakeholder groups to identify and maintain academic program-related partnerships* Identifies, proposes, and implements new or revised unit operational policies and procedures to comply with regulations, institutional policies, and academic program objectives* Evaluates existing academic program strategy and makes recommendations to unit leadership for program enhancement* May manage the unit budget and approve unit expenditures## **Required Qualifications:**•
Master’s degree

Experience with admissions and student advising in higher education
•
Experience supervising professional staff**Preferred Qualifications:**• Experience managing enrollment and student retention initiatives
• Experience collaborating with faculty members to develop and enhance academic programs
• Collaborated on development of graduate programs communications and brand messaging
• Highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities**Target Salary Range:**
Starting salary is $75,000.
