About The Opportunity We’re partnering with a well-established, independent insurance agency in Southern California to hire a Commercial Lines Training & Development Manager to support and develop early‑career commercial risk advisors.

This is a technical training and coaching role, not a sales management position. You’ll work closely with unvalidated commercial advisors, helping them build confidence and competence in commercial coverages, carrier markets, risk evaluation, and placement strategy as they progress toward full validation.

This role is ideal for someone who loves the technical side of commercial insurance and enjoys mentoring others while staying close to real‑world client work.

What You’ll Be Doing

Support and guide commercial risk advisors through their training and validation journey

Deliver hands‑on training in:

Commercial lines coverages

Carrier appetite and market navigation

Submission preparation and placement strategy

Coverage review, exposure identification, and risk assessment

Partner with internal leaders to reinforce technical development (sales training handled separately)

Provide coaching and feedback using real, active opportunities, not just classroom instruction

Create, update, and maintain training materials, documentation, and educational resources

Join advisors on select client or prospect meetings as a technical subject‑matter expert

Track advisor progress and tailor development plans based on individual needs

What We’re Looking For

5–7+ years of Commercial Lines experience

Background in an independent agency or carrier‑facing role (e.g., AE, Senior Account Manager, Marketing Analyst, Underwriter)

Strong understanding of:

Commercial coverages

Carrier appetite and placement strategy

Risk evaluation and exposure discovery

Experience mentoring, coaching, or training others

Ability to clearly explain complex insurance concepts in practical terms

Highly organized with strong follow‑through

Enjoys developing people and building repeatable processes

Active or recently held CA Property & Casualty license

Applied EPIC or similar agency management system experience strongly preferred

Why This Role Stands Out

No sales quota or production pressure

High‑impact role shaping advisor success long‑term

Strong visibility and partnership with leadership

Hands‑on, trusted technical leadership position

Stable, people‑first environment with room to build and improve programs
