The Motion Graphic Designer & Editor is a member of the Curly W Productions team. This individual is responsible for producing and distributing edited and animated visual content in a wide array of mediums for the Washington Nationals. The Motion Graphic Designer & Editor will create edited and animated visual content including in‑game content, commercials, PSAs, social media, promotions, etc.

The Nationals are a military‑friendly organization actively recruiting veterans and spouses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Produce (design and animate) to deliver creative animated motion graphics and video content for game‑day and non‑game‑day projects including in‑game LED board displays, digital graphics, commercials, show open, pump videos, and other creative content.

Work with the Director of Production, Director of Game Presentation, and Curly W Productions videographers and editors in a collaborative creative environment to maintain consistent execution that elevates the club’s brand and engages the fanbase.

Collaborate with the corporate partnership team on sponsored elements for in‑game or other creative assets as assigned.

Produce and deliver animated motion graphics, edited videos, and visual content to internal departments and external clients.

Occasionally edit videos in addition to traditional motion graphics work.

Assist with the development of new and innovative audio/visual concepts.

Keep up to date with trends in content creation, animation, branding, and channel best practices to keep content fresh and innovative.

Assist with field and studio shoots as needed.

Ensure Nationals branding is implemented in all audio/visual elements.

Support game‑day production workflows, ensuring seamless execution of live events and timely delivery of video content that maintains brand consistency and engages fans in real time.

When needed, version, finish, and export video content across multiple channels and delivery methods, ensuring delivery is on time, polished, and with the correct specs.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

Organize and adhere to internal workflows so projects are easily shared.

Continuously develop skills and explore new creative techniques.

Perform other creative duties as assigned.

Requirements Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study.

Minimum of 3 years of experience with motion graphics programs (After Effects).

Minimum of 3 years of experience with non‑linear editing systems (Premiere).

Minimum of 3 years of experience with graphics programs (Photoshop, Illustrator).

Knowledge of 3D animation programs such as Cinema 4D.

Knowledge of interchangeable lens cameras and advanced camera support systems is a plus.

NOTE: Demo reel is required.

Ability to execute projects from concept to completion.

Ability to organize and adhere to internal workflows so projects are easily shared.

Ability to produce and create new and exciting video and graphical content.

Ability to give and receive constructive criticism on creative work.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced, creative environment and meet tight deadlines.

Ability to handle numerous tasks simultaneously.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to travel rarely (as needed).

Must be able to work evenings and weekends.

Must work in a team‑oriented environment.

Must possess strong decision‑making skills and be very detail oriented.

Must be knowledgeable of the Nationals schedule, players, baseball statistics, rules, and records.

Must possess interpersonal communication skills (oral and written).

Must be able to work home games as needed and/or some weekends and nights as scheduled.

Must be comfortable interacting with high‑profile clients.

Professional baseball and/or other professional sports production experience preferred.

Physical/Environmental Requirements

Office: Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Position may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.

Game‑day: Job requires employee to function in a high‑activity and heavily crowded outdoor professional sports venue. May work at heights. Employees will be exposed to inclement weather. Duties require standing for long periods, walking long distances, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or sitting, and lifting or moving up to 45 pounds.

Compensation The projected annual salary range for this position is $60,000 – $72,000 per year. Actual pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s qualifications, skills, expertise, education/training, certifications, and other organization requirements. Starting salaries for new employees are frequently not at the top of the applicable salary range.
