Job Description The (Assistant/Associate) Editorial & Visual Stylist role is a creative role responsible for assisting in the Women’s editorial outfit creation and translating those outfits onto our front of store mannequins across our global fleet. They will work directly with the Women’s Styling Manager to ensure the looks for editorial are elevated and trend relevant for the A & F customer. This is a key member on a highly creative, collaborative team that is responsible for bringing the concept to customer within the ecommerce space. They will partner with: Marketing (Creative/Art Direction), Merchandising, and Design to thread the brand styling perspective throughout each touchpoint. The (Assistant/Associate) Stylist has a passion and knowledge for relevant trends, understands how to elevate outfitting, and brings a unique point-of-view to styling a classic brand in an elevated yet modern way. This job is located at our Global Home Office in Columbus, Ohio.
What Will You Be Doing? Editorial Tasks
Assist with outfitting Women’s editorial looks based on overall seasonal and creative strategy.
Work directly with Women’s Styling Manager to ensure we are bringing the concept to customer at every touchpoint.
Responsible for packing out outfits, shoes, and accessories for on location photoshoots. Must maintain an organized pack out to have a seamless unpacking on location.
Partner closely with Art Direction prior to shoot day to ensure alignment across all spectrums.
Responsible for prepping garments, steaming/organizing for in house editorial shoots.
Will assist the Women’s Styling Manager for model fittings during photoshoot weeks. Ensure all items showcase the best fit and is styled with confidence – reference fit photos when needed.
Partner with the Product Channel Merchants on overall sample closet organization.
Maintain an intimate understanding of the brand purpose, DNA and customer insights. Stay up to date on e-commerce industry trends and other retail brands as they pertain to the brand’s competitive landscape.
Be customer-centric and obsessive of the brand by spending time in-store/online as needed, following influencers along with aspirational brands creating seasonal inspiration direction for team.
Visual Floorset Tasks
Responsible for translating editorial looks into mannequin outfitting across the global fleet (NA, EMEA, APAC).
Outfits will be grouped together but must tell a cohesive story based off the seasonal and creative strategy.
Will need to update looks if items are not present in a particular region.
Responsible for communicating outfitting direction to the internal visual team for them to execute the documentation sent to stores.
Must be able to dress mannequins for in store walkthroughs.
Work closely with the Stylist Coordinator to request necessary samples from the sample library and/or pull items from the ecommerce studio to dress front of store mannequins.
What Do You Need To Bring?
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion or Marketing, or related experience
Styling experience in a fast-paced cross-functional team
Styling experience in visual merchandising mannequin dressing
Experience working in an iconic branded environment for a global brand.
Strong women’s outfitting and on-set skills with a good understanding of fitting multiple body types
Experience collaborating within a creative marketing team in studio and on-location shoots
Excellent on-set styling acumen and experience on location, studio, and e-commerce shoots
Must be organized, self-motivated, and passionate about women’s styling and branding for e-commerce landscape.
Must have strong communication skills: team-orientated, positive, proactive and business-savvy
Must be self-motivated, with ability to multi-task and prioritize daily responsibilities for self and others.
