At Marriott, the Social Media and People Brand Storytelling Professional role brings Marriott’s Be people brand to life—showcasing what it means to Begin, Belong, and Become at Marriott through authentic storytelling that reaches both current associates and future talent.

As a digital communications expert, you will leverage industry best practices to develop social media and communication strategies to help the company attract, engage and retain employees globally. This position will work with the Director of Associate Storytelling to define and deliver social media strategies that strengthen Marriott’s people brand.

Responsibilities

Own editorial direction and day‑to‑day activation across key platforms, translating Marriott’s people brand into content relevant, credible, and engaging for both external candidates and current associates.

Lead the ongoing activation, management, and evolution of Marriott’s Careers and people brand social media channels, including LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and X.

Own content planning, publishing, and channel optimization to ensure consistent, high‑quality storytelling.

Ensure social channels reflect the Marriott people brand in a way that feels human, current, and relevant.

Oversee the Marriott Careers social media content calendar and daily content development.

Develop content that fosters associate pride and engagement, partnering with cross‑functional partners to share stories across internal platforms.

Create and curate social content across formats, including short‑form video, visual storytelling, and associate‑led stories.

Build and scale associate storytelling by enabling employees, leaders, and communities to contribute content in simple, authentic, and on‑brand ways.

Lead the execution of people brand and recruiting campaigns across internal and external social and digital channels.

Partner closely with Global Talent Acquisition to align campaigns and content with priority hiring needs.

Manage multiple initiatives at once, ensuring clear timelines, strong creative execution, and follow‑through.

Track and report on social media performance using agreed metrics tied to engagement and brand health.

Use insights to refine content, channel strategy, and campaign execution over time.

Share clear, practical performance updates with partners and stakeholders.

Candidate Profile Education & Experience

A minimum of three or more years of experience in a social media role; experience in employer brand and/or recruitment marketing strongly preferred.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or other relevant fields.

Strong creative writer with experience in social media, internal communications, journalism, and marketing.

Proven track record consulting with business leaders and designing, developing, and implementing high‑impact solutions in large organizations using a variety of delivery methodologies.

Proven experience in managing social media channels on behalf of a company/brand including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and social media management platforms such as Sprinklr.

Knowledge & Skills

Ability to translate the Be brand pillars into compelling social‑first storytelling that feels human, credible, and grounded in real associate experiences.

Social media expert; proficient with using AI to create content while maintaining authenticity and a consistent brand voice.

Expert written and verbal communication skills.

Experience partnering with internal communications to amplify associate engagement and internal culture storytelling.

Strong program and project management skills.

Strong service orientation, consulting skills, and ability to interface with senior business leaders.

Strong proofreading, subbing, and editing skills.

Editorial experience.

Expert in social media reporting and analytics.

Experience in managing and developing online channels.

Experience managing agencies and budgets.

Ability to influence and operate at all levels; to present work quickly and accurately to a high standard.

Able to multi‑task, self‑motivated, and able to self‑manage projects.

Proven experience using Sprinklr and other social media tools.
