
A leading FMCG company is seeking a freelance brand strategist to support the launch of a new non-alcoholic canned beverage. The brand’s core identity, including logo, tagline, and guidelines, is already established. The strategist will play a pivotal role in refining and activating the brand strategy, ensuring the product stands out in a competitive market. This position requires a structured, insight-driven approach to clarify the brand narrative, enhance positioning, and guide go-to-market activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in FMCG, beverage, or youth-focused brands, and a strong understanding of the South Asian market landscape. All deliverables will be used by internal teams and partner agencies to drive successful brand activation.

Refine and articulate the brand’s positioning and messaging architecture using existing assets
Conduct category and competitive analysis to identify differentiation opportunities
Develop actionable go-to-market strategies for digital, marketing, and on-ground activation
Provide strategic guidance for internal teams and partner agencies to ensure consistent brand execution
Prepare clear, insight-driven documentation to support brand activation and communication
Requirements
Proven experience in brand strategy, ideally within FMCG, beverage, or youth-oriented sectors
Strong understanding of the Sri Lankan or broader South Asian consumer market
Ability to synthesize insights and translate them into practical, actionable strategies
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Familiarity with digital, marketing, and on-ground activation tactics
Structured, analytical, and detail-oriented approach
Availability for remote collaboration and timely delivery of project milestones
