Newsweek is seeking a Part-Time Social Media Coordinator to join our team and support weekend coverage. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced digital environment and is passionate about engaging audiences across platforms. The coordinator will work Saturdays and Sundays, 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM ET (10 hours per day), ensuring Newsweek’s social presence remains active, timely, and aligned with editorial priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Content Scheduling & Publishing : Post and manage content across Newsweek’s social media channels (Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok,Bluesky, Threads, WhatsApp,RedditandLinkedIn).
Audience Engagement :Monitorcommentsand trends; respond appropriately to foster community interaction.
Real-Time Coverage :Collaborate with editors to amplify breaking news and trending stories during weekend hours.
Analytics & Reporting :Track performance of weekendcontentand provide insights to the social media team.
Brand Consistency :Ensure all posts reflect Newsweek’s voice, editorial standards, and visual identity.
Collaboration :Communicate with editorial and digital teams to align social strategy with newsroom priorities.
Requirements
Prior experience managing social media accounts for a brand, publication, or organization.
Strong understanding of social platforms, trends, and best practices.
Ability to work independently and make quick editorial judgments.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Weekend availability isrequired.
While this is a remote position, the candidate must be US-based.
Hourly pay rate: $20-30/hour,commensuratewithexperience
