As part of HVAC Cooling, SPX Cooling Technologies is a leader in high quality industrial HVAC equipment used to cool large facilities like hospitals, data centers, and power plants. With cooling towers, fans, and refrigeration units, companies rely on brands like Marley, Recold, and SGS to provide comfort and mission critical and industrial cooling solutions.

How You Will Make An Impact (Job Summary) SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As an OEM Account Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and growing relationships with key clients, developing strategic account plans, and meeting sales targets across assigned accounts. This role requires a strong understanding of the client’s needs and business objectives and entails ensuring client satisfaction through consistent and effective communication. The OEM Account Manager will play a critical role in increasing market share and ensuring the successful execution of sales strategies.

What You Can Expect In This Role (Job Responsibilities) While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

Market and Revenue Growth

Promote and grow market share to industrial refrigeration OEM’s

Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand customer base and market presence

Collaborate with cross functional teams, including marketing, production/operations, and finance to develop comprehensives sales and marketing plans

Develop competitive analyses and strategic positioning plans for each key account

Meet SGS product sales and standard margin goals

Account Management

Provide expert product knowledge across all Evaporative Cooling product lines

Solve routine product and system issues

Develop and cultivate customer relationships by meeting with customers, conducting presentations, and discussing existing projects

Meet with customers to discuss all aspects of proposals and close opportunities

Solicit and analyze customer feedback for product performance and value

Continuous Improvement

Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network, promote the company, and identify new business opportunities

Review and recommend strategies outside current practices

Identify opportunities to optimize processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs

Participate in other projects as assigned that relate to overall goals of the department and organization

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education) We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience

3+ years of experience in sales or refrigeration products to the industrial market and engineering/ product intermediaries

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Extensive knowledge of refrigeration and cooling tower systems and components

Experience with both direct and indirect sales channels

Proactive and results oriented approach with a strong sense of accountability

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships at all levels of the organization

Ability to present data and recommendations to senior leaders with excellent presentation skills

Analytical mindset with prior experience interpreting sales data and market trends and making strategic decisions and recommendations

Ability to think creatively and recommend strategies and tactics outside current practices

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Proficiency in CRM software/packages and other sales, marketing tools

Education & Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another technical field preferred

Driver’s license and proof of insurance

Travel & Working Environment

Frequent travel to meet with customers, attend industry events, and visit company locations (up to 50%)

As a result, we aim for flexibility in structuring competitive compensation offers to ensure we are able to attract the best candidates. As required by law in this state, the estimated salary range for this position is $86,900 - $147,800 and represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect. We tailor our offers within the range based on organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic zone, and the selected candidate’s experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. At SPX, it is not common for individuals to be hired at the higher end of the range, and compensation decisions depend on a variety of factors. This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus, subject to the rules governing the plan.
