Account Executive, based in the Southeast U.S., for our Cellular and Molecular Technologies (CMT) sales team.

The Opportunity Harvard Bioscience is seeking an
Account Executive for the Southeast U.S. territory position covering eight states (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia).
The purpose of this position is to promote Harvard Biosciences Cellular and Molecular Technologies portfolio and services to researchers in academic, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and contract research organizations within the assigned territory. To be considered for this position you must be able to work remotely from a home office in Southeast region of the United States. Must be available for travel up to 50% of an average work week, some weekend scientific meeting coverage is a requirement. Compensation for this position will include salary, commissions and bonuses, all necessary office equipment and communication tools will be provided. Qualified candidates must reside in the territory, preferably in the metro locations of Atlanta, Orlando, or Raleigh.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships
Serve as the lead point of contact for all customer accounts within assigned territory
Prospect for new sales opportunities
Develop new business with existing clients and new clients while identifying areas of improvement to meet or exceed sales quotas
Negotiate opportunities and close agreements to maximize user needs and increase corporate revenue
Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts, customer stakeholders and executive sponsors
Clearly communicate the progress of weekly/monthly/quarterly initiatives to Regional Manager and corporate stakeholders
Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g., monthly/quarterly sales results and annual forecasts)
Collaborate with sales team to identify and grow opportunities within territory and region
Be an internal client advocate for timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives
Develop new business with existing clients and new clients while identifying areas of improvement to meet sales quotas
Prepare reports on account status
Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed
Guide prospective clients through a technical, consultative sales process that will continue for years moving forward.
Other related tasks as required.
Qualifications / Required Skills
Synthesize a wide spectrum of scientific needs of researchers so to propose the appropriate capital solution that meets the need.
Tenacious follow up with current client base as well as organic prospecting of new clients throughout territory.
Manage CRM and communications with external clients (research community) and internal clients (sales team).
Computer Skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Social Media, Web search).
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build customer rapport.
Understanding of the sales process and metrics and the use of data analytics to refine sales strategies.
Ability to work well both independently and in a group.
The drive and commitment to achieve personal and company goals.
Education And Experience Or Equivalent
Minimum 4 Year Degree.
S. degree in a science (Biology, Microbiology, Biomedical Engineering, etc.) or Business.
Master's or PhD degree in the sciences or business is desirable but not required.
Experience in sales to biomedical research laboratories or capital medical equipment sales.
Laboratory research or familiarity with electronics and scientific/biomedical laboratory equipment.
