The Regional Sales Manager oversees the promotion and direction of the sales and service activities of Allient and Allied Motion Technologies products and systems among customers or prospects in a region.

Responsibilities
Primarily responsible for new business development within the assigned territory. Sells the company’s products to business and industrial establishments or OEMs utilizing knowledge of product sold. Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
Must have experience using CRM software for tracking, managing, and communicating within the company about customer activities
Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sale leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, internet and other sources.
Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers either on site or via remote communication.
Delivers quotes and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained. Coordinates with manufacturing facility to determine date of delivery.
Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
Uses Zoom info or equivalent to prospect customers in the territory
Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates, and develops sales campaigns.
Forecasts anticipated market sales and analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and assist in promoting sales.
Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring work activities, such as preparation of records of expenditures, progress reports, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering,
Master’s Degree or MBA highly preferred.
5-10 years of sales experience of technical products to manufacturers.
Experience in selling/working with automation or motion control products
Proven experience in cross-selling, and competence in various sales activities.
Physical Demands
Role requires 50% travel within the assigned territory visiting customers and sales channels
Will spend some time standing and walking on the production floor, airports, and general movement associated with travel.
Must be able to operate a computer, other office devices.
Occasionally may have to lift and/or transport items weighing between 10 and 30 pounds.
Predominately office environment when not travelling with occasional exposure to the production floor.
While on the production floor, employee may be subjected to moving mechanical parts and may be required to put on precautionary, protective wear such as goggles.
Extensive travel required, both air and car.
