North Sound Media (NSM) is a locally owned media company that is accepting applications for a part-time Everett Post Editor & Social Media Manager position. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys digital content creation, is comfortable with community outreach and interviewing, and has an interest in the policies, politics, businesses, and events that happen across the Greater Snohomish County area.
Position Summary: As Editor of the Everett Post you will handle daily tasks such as:
Create and manage daily Local News content on the Everett Post website.
Research, interview and write articles relevant to the City of Everett and Snohomish County.
Maintain a consistent editorial calendar to ensure timely, high‑quality content.
Edit articles and guest columns for clarity, accuracy, and AP style compliance, ensuring local relevance.
Seek and develop community partnerships to expand brand visibility and engagement.
Manage the website’s online events calendar with current and upcoming local events.
As Digital Media Manager you will handle daily tasks such as:
Oversee social media for NSM assets: Everett’s Greatest Hits KRKO, Classic Country KXA & Everett Post.
Manage and develop daily content across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok tailored to each brand’s voice and identity.
Maintain a comprehensive posting schedule for all brands ensuring consistent posting, brand identity, and work with the Promotions Manager to fulfill contractual obligations.
Produce a monthly B2B email newsletter featuring original blog content, upcoming events, company news, testimonials, and more.
Analyze analytics and adjust strategies based on performance data.
Skills and Qualifications:
A background in journalism is required
Familiar with digital marketing tools and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, WordPress, Adobe, Canva etc.)
A true team player with a proactive attitude and willingness to learn
Strong time management skills: ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Detail oriented and deadline driven
Must be age 18 by start of hire date
