Job Purpose Fanatics Collectibles is looking for a Trading Card Market Intelligence Associate to help us shape the evolution and growth of our global trading card portfolio. This role will report to the Senior Director of Strategic Finance, who reports directly to the CFO. This is a high‑visibility, high‑impact role centered on market intelligence, analytics, and insight generation. You will track the entire trading card ecosystem — across sports, entertainment IP, breakers, marketplaces, grading, and collector communities — to help Fanatics stay ahead of trends, anticipate market shifts, and identify strategic opportunities. You’ll build dashboards, analyze data, attend shows, track cultural signals, and develop market reporting that informs product, brand, finance, and strategy teams across the company. Your insights will help steer the business as we grow, innovate, and elevate the modern collector experience. This is a unique opportunity to become one of the industry's foremost experts in a market undergoing rapid innovation and transformation.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain market intelligence dashboards and reporting tools that track pricing trends, product performance, supply dynamics, demand signals, and cultural movements shaping the hobby.
Monitor the trading card marketplace daily, including primary and secondary markets, grading trends, auction results, releases, influencers, and product innovations.
Identify early emerging trends, growth categories, and market shifts, surfacing insights that help inform product strategy, forecasting, and long‑term planning.
Conduct deep‑drop analyses on specific segments, IPs, player dynamics, and collector behaviors to support commercial, brand, and finance decisions.
Represent Fanatics Collectibles at key events — trade shows, conventions, industry gatherings, and community meetups — gathering insights and nurturing relationships with creators, breakers, dealers, collectors, and trendsetters.
Produce clear, concise, and visually compelling reporting and presentations for senior leadership, distilling complex market dynamics into actionable recommendations.
Partner cross‑functionally with Product, Brand, Strategy, Finance, and Data teams to help build better insights, influence decision‑making, and support execution of new initiatives.
Continuously refine methodologies and analytical tools, ensuring Fanatics stays at the cutting edge of market understanding.
Qualifications & experience
2–4 years of experience in Finance, Data & Analytics, Management Consulting, or a similar quantitative and insight‑driven role.
Strong foundation in data analytics, including dashboard building, data visualization, data extraction, and quantitative analysis.
Deep understanding of — and passion for — the trading card market, including sports, entertainment IP, grading, collecting communities, and cultural drivers.
Demonstrated ability to synthesize large datasets into clear, digestible insights for technical and non‑technical audiences.
Strong communication skills — written, verbal, and visual — with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear recommendations.
Experience with BI tools, SQL, or analytics platforms (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau, Looker) is a plus.
Highly organized, self‑directed, and comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, constantly evolving environment.
A naturally curious mindset with a desire to dive deep into markets, data, trends, and emerging cultural signals.
Skills & Abilities
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret trends and forecast implications.
Ability to structure ambiguous problems and break them into actionable components.
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to proactively identify opportunities, frame insights, and influence stakeholders across the organization.
Strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for engaging with external collectors, partners, and community influencers.
Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with senior leaders.
A passion for collectibles and an instinctive understanding of what drives value, scarcity, and demand.
The salary range for this position is $107,500 - $133,750, which represents base pay only and does not include short‑term or long‑term incentive compensation. When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.
