
Social Media Associate - Editorial Content

Do you want to join the best content team in the NBA? The LA Clippers are looking for a part-time Editorial Associate with a passion for storytelling, a sharp editorial voice, and a deep understanding of live sports culture.
This role sits within your Social & Web team and focuses on crafting compelling written content that elevates the Clippers brand across social and web platforms and will be responsible for covering the team on and around game days, as well as covering front office news and announcements from the perspective of the LA Clippers.
This is a part-time seasonal position for the 2025-2026 NBA season based at Intuit Dome located in Inglewood, CA. Due to the nature of this industry, you must be available to work a flexible schedule including weeknights, weekends, and holidays to cover high profile events and NBA games. Work hours will fluctuate based on event schedules and business needs. It is expected that you are able to attend all of our home games in person, including weekends, holidays, and playoffs, as well as remotely support during our away games, in addition to spending one afternoon per week (Tuesdays) in the office with the other members of the social and content teams.
What You Will Do
Create engaging written content for distribution on Clippers owned channels (social media, website, mobile app) including game coverage, feature stories, player spotlights, and community narratives
Pitch story ideas, angles, and emerging trends that resonate with fans and reflect the voice of the organization
Support live coverage of Clippers games, practices, events, and community initiatives
Collaborate with social, marketing, and PR teams to ensure alignment on messaging and storytelling
Conduct interviews and gather quotes from players, coaches, front office staff, and community members
Assist with copywriting needs across digital platforms as assigned
Use your knowledge and keen eye for social media trends to contribute content ideas
Timely in disseminating and communicating ideas
Due to the nature of this industry, the candidate must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weeknights, select weekends, and holidays
Your Background, Skills And Qualifications
1-3 years professional writing experience, ideally in sports, journalism, or digital media
Experience covering live sports at the collegiate or professional level
Strong editorial instincts and comfort pitching and being assigned storylines in fast-paced environments
Ability to communicate confidently and professionally with high-profile individuals, including players, coaches, executives, and community leaders
Familiarity with social media best practices; marketing or content strategy experience is a plus
A collaborative mindset, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive under tight deadlines
Strong copywriting skills
Quick and confident learner and excellent teammate with strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Detailed knowledge of basketball, the National Basketball Association (NBA) and its players.
Self-starter, data-driven problem solver with an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to collaborate in a team-based culture
Ability to learn, contribute and thrive in a fast-growing, dynamic environment.
Effective interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
Compensation
$19.00 - $21.00 per hour. This role is classified as non-exempt.
