is seeking an Associate Editor to join our fast-paced Breaking News team. This is a critical role, responsible for ensuring we are first and accurate on the most important stories of the day.
Responsibilities:
Monitor news wires, social media, and other sources to identify breaking news events.
Assigning reporters and help coordinate coverage.
Ensure accuracy and speed in all breaking news reporting.
Collaborate with other editors and reporters to provide comprehensive coverage of major events.
Optimize breaking news content for search engines and social media.
Stay up-to-date on current events and trends in politics, policy, and culture.
Working flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field.
At least two years of experience in breaking news reporting or editing.
Strong news judgment and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
Excellent writing and editing skills.
Deep understanding of digital journalism and social media.
Experience managing a team of reporters.
