Nursing Administration Reports To
Chief Nursing Officer Job Summary
This is an administrative position with responsibility, accountability and authority for assisting the VP Patient Services in managing the nursing division, developing patient care programs, policies, procedures and standards of care. Assists in the formulation and achievement of designated objectives and plans through strategic planning, fiscal development, performance improvement and employee management. Reporting Relationships
Reports to the Vice President Patient Services, Chief Nursing Officer. Provides direct management leadership to nursing department directors as assigned by the VPPS. May also interact with other members of SLT, Board of Directors, Medical Staff and other CMC employees. Qualifications
Possession of NYS Registered Professional Nursing License. Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred Managerial/Leadership competence. Thorough knowledge of hospital practice, regulation and code. Minimum of four years' hospital management experience. In-patient clinical care experience 3 years preferred Excellent oral and written skills. Key Functions
Oversite of all Emergency services sites [CMC ED, SH ED, Urgent Care sites] Assist in strategic planning for Emergency services Partnership with VPMA and medical directors on provider services and clinical practice Accountable for customer service and overall image of emergency services Oversite of Transfer center Oversite of Emergency Preparedness Collaboration with Ambulance Services in Tompkins and Schuyler County Accountable for quality metrics and regulatory practice Accountable for performance improvement Assist with financial stability and supply chain management at all sites Assist with Meditech optimization Assist with personnel management and FTE allocation Assist with mentoring leadership and succession planning Assist with implementing structures that optimize success and processes to achieve outcomes and organizational goals
