THIS POSITION IS REMOTE WITH OCCASSIONAL IN PERSON WORK IN NYC
Congregation Rodeph Sholom, a vibrant and inclusive Reform synagogue on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, is seeking a creative and reliable Social Media Manager to help manage and grow our presence across social platforms. This position plays a key role in how we communicate with our congregation—especially during moments of urgency, celebration, and connection for the Jewish community. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications.
Location: NYC (remote/hybrid) Compensation:
$45–$55/hour, based on experience, approximately 5-8 hours per week
What You’ll Do
Content & Scheduling
Coordinate and schedule content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube
Maintain a consistent posting schedule aligned with synagogue programs, events, and communications priorities
Support the creation and posting of graphics, videos, and written content
Timely & Responsive Posting
Assist with posting in response to current events and moments impacting the Jewish community
Platform Support
Format content for different platforms (Reels, Shorts, feed posts, stories)
Monitor comments and messages and flag items that need a response
What We’re Looking For
2-3+ years of experience managing social media or digital content
Strong interest in and enthusiasm for social media and digital storytelling
Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
A strong sense of voice, tone, and what performs well on different platforms
Organized, reliable, and collaborative
Nice to Have (Not Required)
Interest in synagogue life, Jewish culture, or Jewish holidays
Familiarity with faith-based or mission-driven organizations
